Gordon A. Thompson has been in the HR profession for over 35 years learning his craft from tenures at Yellow Pages, Wella, Bank of Scotland, CSM Worldwide and Entertainment Publications.

Awarded his Master of Science in Human Resources by the University of West London UK, Gordon spent half his career in the UK before migrating to the US in 2001, where he initially spent time converting his UK and European Employment and Labor Law knowledge and practice to US standards and practices.

For the past 9 years, Gordon has presided over the HR function at Kawasaki Robotics (USA), Inc., based in Wixom, Michigan. This organization enjoys the benefits of a Japanese/American mixed culture, which he helped convert to a highly flexible, fun, and collaborative place to work and grow. Kawasaki Robotics is the robotics division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries a global $15B engineering business that is probably best known for its jet skis and the world beating Ninja motor bikes

Gordon is currently serving as Senior Director of Human Resources and Operations. His dual business and HR management roles at Kawasaki give him a unique opportunity to be viewed as a major business contributor rather than a cost center.

Gordon is also an active member of the HRUnite community and has helped Dr. McGinnis in running the pre-pandemic Student Games at MiSHRM 2018 and 2019.
